So I’ve started reading the book of Daniel. The following passage is from chapter 2:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
I was praying this morning about my own dreams, so when I started reading this chapter I couldn’t help but smile at how on time God is. This is where you go read Daniel chapter 2 if you have not already. It’s short. I’ll wait. … Done? Ok.
My situation is a little different than that of the king. A good friend spoke a word over my life last year, and I’ve been waiting to see what God’s interpretation of that word will be. This morning I was praying about it. I believe God used this chapter to show me that He is the revealer of mysteries (verse 47). Whether it is as enormous as the the prophetic dream of a king, or as small as the hope I have in this word my friend gave me, in the words of Daniel:
27 “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.”
I know God has great things in store for me. I know He holds my future and my heart in the palm of His hand. I don’t know what is ahead, but I thank God that my life, my future, my mysteries are in His hands. I don’t have to worry because He will make all of it make sense in due time.
It’s cool when God takes a moment to reassure you. God’s a cool dude. That’s why I hang out with Him so much. :o)
